Disney’s “Alice in Wonderland”, by Tim Burton, has attracted designer collaborators such as Stella McCartney, Tom Binns and Sue Wong for accessories and a clothing line with Wong. Now, beauty brands OPI and Urban Decay have also gone down the rabbit hole for ‘Alice’-inspired cosmetics.
Back last February, OPI introduced four nail lacquer shades inspired by Tim Burton / Disney’s continued lWonderland story: “Absolutely Alice” in blue glitter, “Mad as a Hatter” in black-multi glitter, “Thanks so Muchness” in shimmery red and a bold “Off with Her Red.” ( The OPI “Alice in Wonderland” nail varnishes available for $8.50.)
Urban Decay also joins the tea party with the “Book of Shadows,” featuring 16 eye shadows that evoke Alice’s dreamscape of talking caterpillars and flower beds. Am eye-shadow “book” opens to reveal 16 shades with names Alice. White Rabbit, Queen, Wonderland, Muchness, Drink Me, Eat Me, Midnight Tea Party and Jabberwocky. The “Book of Shadows” retailed for $52, at Sephora, Macy’s and Urban Decay (now available online in limited quantity)
